Update number 7
Wow I'm doing a great job with posting here. I am still working on my great HP re-read and I think after that I'm going to read the leak of Midnight Sun, since it was planned to be a book and who knows when it's going to be out now. So I have downloaded the PDF and I'm going to read it. And it will be awesome since PDFs are way easier to drag around since I can just put it on my phone.
I'm currently on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire took me the longest amount of time. I think it's because books one two and three are all about getting Harry into the Wizarding World and setting up the back store. Book's five six and seven are all about the future and the challenges Harry and crew are overcoming instead of the things they're learning about. Book four is very much the bridge between the two parts and I value it for that, however to me on my third or fourth read through it I found it a little dull and hard to get through. I was waiting for the action to begin. The Triwizard Tournament is awesome and everything, but it doesn't do a whole lot to further the plot. Although I will argue that the DA formed fourth year only know one knew it, when Hermione Ron and Harry would practice hexes in classrooms so Harry would be prepared for the third task.
Anyhow now that I've made it to OotP, I think I'll be moving through them at blazing speeds again. (Book's 1-3 took like a week and a half, GoF took up the rest of the last month, lol.) Then Midnight Sun, then finishing The Host, then finishing Calamity Physics...and then I have a ton of other things to read, lol. YAY!
5[9]/50 (I'm not counting HP unless I have to to reach my goal, lol. I guess that means counting this re-read I'm reading 57 books in a years time. Still not a crazy thing to ask of myself.)

Update 6
Oh hello blog! How have you been??
Well here's what's happening. I was trying to read The Host, and I made some progress, although I hated dragging the darn thing around with me. But now Breaking Dawn is out, so I'm reading that instead. And after Breaking Dawn I think I'm going to start in on my Harry Potter reading, after that I'll return to Calamity Physics and The Host. It will be alright. But yeah, thankfully I'll have Breaking Dawn done today and I can hopefully start in on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone tonight/tomorrow. Hoorah!
one of the biggest challenge I think I'll have with re-reading HP is going to be how much fanfic I've read on the side. A blessing and a curse, but I bet they'll be things I've forgotten in the books or things I thought were in fiction, but were cannon or vice versa or whatever. Run on sentences FTW!
Also somewhere in my great HP re-read I'm going to write a long meta about the Harry Potter fandom, since I don't really feel it's going to fit in well with either of my Live Journals, I've decided to post it here. AT least to start. I might very well cross post it. IDK.
(Isn't it great that I'm not dead???)

Update number 5
Hi everyone!
It took me forever to get internet in my apartment. But now I have it again! Hoorah!
So I was working on reading "Special Topics in Calamity Physics" but it wasn't really catching my interest and I think that's because I have a zillion things going on right now, I can't read a book with so many levels and random intelligent points. (Wow that turned my next sentence into a huge dis.) So I've started "The Host" and hopefully that goes better for me. I'm not saying "The Host" isn't smart, I don't really know yet, but "Calamity Physics" is like...well the main character goes to Harvard after the events of the book. It's a smidge pretentious. Maybe that's my problem with it. Regardless, I'll finish it. Just it will be after Breaking Dawn and after Harry Potter. Umm..yeah.
Since I linked here from there, I'll do it the other way- Check out my youtube! I'm going to be making real updates! yay! http://www.youtube.com/user/CountryApple1x2 I'm sure I'll talk about books there too.

Real Update 4
quick update from work-
I'm still working on Calamity Physics. About half way done. Next is The Host (because Twilight is taking over my life. Clearly this makes sense.) Hopefully I'll get through it soon. I don't have internet in my new apartment until Friday sooooo more updates soon. (If I don't have internet, why am I not reading more??? liiiiike wtf?)

update 3
wow, I dont have Internet at my new apartment so this is a quick update from my iphone. I finished "New Moon" and I'm already chewing my way through "Eclipse" which is awesome. "Twilight" is my favorite thus far and Bella has finally started to annoy me the way she does to others... At least it sounds lime a bunch of you are complaining about Bella. I dont understand her and I want to smack some sense into her. I digress, more on that soon. For now "Eclipse" and whatever else next. The great Potter read through is going to have to wait until after "Breaking Dawn."

Update 2
Well look at that. I finished "Twilight" today. Go me! Look what a day off can do for a person. I might post a sort of review on it, but I will say that I loved it. I'm a sucker for a good romance and I already bought "New Moon" so I'll be starting on that. Hopefully I won't get so engrossed that I'm overwhelmed and can't work. Anyone know when "Eclipse" is going to be out in paperback? I know "Breaking Dawn" is out in August so I'm guessing sometime soon? I probably won't wait, but you know, it's worth thinking about.
Yeah probably more conversation on this later.

Update 1
Fantastic news! I finished "Looking For Alaska". Can I just say that John Green is my hero? Like, no, I really love him. He's amazingly talented. Like sure, the book had it's moments where I knew what was on it's way and I rolled my eyes, but the boys he wrote were so well fleshed out and so was Alaska. The relationship between The Corneal and Pudge just makes me crazy. As a female I almost feel like I've intruded into some secret world of boys that I'm not supposed to enter. A He-Man-Woman-Haters club or something. What was I thinking? Reading a book about a boy. DUUUH! But in all sincerity, the journey they went on and everything that happened and the search for the Great Perhaps. I mean it's true, really. I know I can relate to that feeling of not knowing what to do next in your life and pushing through it to survive and find the way out of the maze your always going to be in. All to find your Great Perhaps. I don't know, hopefully this isn't too spoiler-ific. I digress (that's one of my newest favorite things to say, I probably use it wrong about 83% of the time. "Alaska" has made it's way into the hands of my good friend and in exchange she gave me some massive book. I'm not even sure of the title right now sitting in my room. Alas, I'm reading "Twilight" anyhow. I don't know if I love it, but I am surly a sucker for romance. And I want to read Harry Potter again, but I think I'm stuck with these three books first. So that's an update.

Welcome!
Hello there great big world of blogspot! My name is Jeanne. And I plan on reading 50 books from my 23rd birthday to my 24th birthday. I am totally stealing this idea from Kristina over at fiveawesomegirls on youtube. So yeah, I want to start reading more. Ever since I went to college reading was about school, not about fun. So I hope to turn that around. Now I'm going to say my first book is "Looking For Alaska", by John Green. I've already read about half of it, admittedly, and then I was so frustrated and upset about what happened that I put it away. Since then I've read several books and all of that was before my birthday and I'm not counting them, so Alaska it is! Whatever, it's my own personal challenge, I can do what I want. After that it's going to be Twilight and if the hype is right I guess I'll follow that with the rest of the series. I also admit that I plan on re-reading Harry Potter 1-7, but in the long run what's 7 books out of 50? Okay...kinda a lot. But whatever. AGAIN! I make the rules.
So this blog is here for me to provide updates on what I'm reading. Maybe some book reviews too, I'm not sure. We'll all figure it out as we go along.
